The Best Tips and Tricks for Small Pantry Organization

I’ve been extremely organized my entire life.  Even as a little girl my clothes were hung neatly in my color coordinated closet.  That being said, it’s no surprise that my love for organization and all things aesthetic carried over in my adult life.  One of my favorite things to organize is my kitchen - especially my pantry.  I know it can seem daunting to create  an organized pantry, especially if you have a large family and a small pantry, but it doesn’t have to be.  With my article on the best tips and tricks for small pantry organization, you’ll be able to create your dream pantry with a few simple tips.

How to Create a Beautifully Organized Pantry

Tip 1: Clear Containers

Not only do clear containers save so much space, but they’re also pleasing to the eye. Before choosing your containers, take inventory of the dry goods you keep on hand. I love having different styles and sizes for different categories. For example, crackers all share the same type of container, baking goods like flour and rolled oats have the same type of container, cereal is all in the same type, and so on and so forth.

Container labels can also be really useful and an easy way to create uniform organization for your pantry. I’ve created pantries with and without container labels and love the look of both.

Tip 2: Baskets

Being organized doesn’t have to be overly complicated, and these tips and tricks or small pantry organization can be so helpful in making organizing less of a chore. Baskets are one of my favorite ways to give your pantry an aesthetic look, while keeping it easy and simple. Just toss the loose items in a basket and voila, you’re organized. I like using smaller baskets for on the go snack items, like protein bars and and snack packets. I toss things like bags of potato chips in larger baskets toward the lower area of the pantry.

3. Lazy Susan

I love using a lazy Susan in the pantry for easy access to things like syrups and nut butters. It makes everything visible with a slight turn, and looks organized and aesthetic. There are so many options for a lazy Susan, from wood, to clear acrylic, to marble. Sharing all of my favorite shopping options below.

4. Aesthetic Details

If you want your pantry to look aesthetic, you have to add the extra little details. Small touches really do go a long way. Setting a bowl or small vase on a stack of cookbooks or displaying a few cutting boards are both easy options. You can also display pitchers, platters, cute signs and even a faux plant. These items are easy to find and don’t have to cost a fortune. Walmart has great options for pantry decor.

5. Placement

In order to create that beautiful pantry aesthetic you need proper placement.  This is one of my best tips and tricks for small pantry organization: shelf styling requires balance. This is key to make things look tidy and organized. Make sure to create a visually appealing look using the variety of sizes and shapes of various items.  For example,  fill in any gaps between storage containers with decor.  Also, if you have enough space, try using the entire top shelf for decor, like I did.
